Volunteers wanted: DRK and church in Lüneburg need you!
Lüneburg. In an urgent call, Jens Heidrich from the German Red Cross (DRK) and Pastor Jan Kreuch urgently volunteers Psychosocial emergency care (PSNV) and emergency pastoral care are sought. "We need people who give other people stability," explains Heidrich. These helpers are essential to offer immediate mental support in crisis situations such as fatal accidents or severe fires.
The DRK and the church guarantee mental emergency care around the clock. "It is not a religious offer, but a mixed system," says Kreuch. The helpers are only in use in the first few hours after an incident to help those affected to bring them back into the here and now and to make contact with their social environment. "Depending on the case, we are an hour or four hours on site. Then we go and don't come back," emphasizes Heidrich.
urgently wanted support!
On Saturday, November 9th, the DRK and the church invite you to an information event in the Hansekontor in Lüneburg. The requirements and the importance of voluntary work are explained from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. "We are looking for solid people who are ready to help at night or on weekends," emphasizes Kreuch. A driver's license and access to the Internet are also required because the helpers are alerted via Pager.
The training of the helpers is costly and amounts to over 2000 euros per person. Discussions with the district about grants show positive signals. Heidrich and Kreuch emphasize the exceptionally good cooperation between the DRK and the church. "You become part of a well -rehearsed team where there is a great deal of appreciation," says Kreuch.
