Roof danger in Lehel: Fire brigade saves threatening tin roof!
Alarm in Munich! On Tuesday morning, October 29, 2024, the fire department was called to Pfisterstrasse when a loose tin roof threatened to fall onto the street. The caretaker noticed the potential danger and immediately alerted a roofing company. But the situation was explosive: it was not possible to get out onto the roof and the risk of a fall was considered extremely high. For this reason the fire brigade was called into action.
The integrated control center reacted promptly and sent a turntable ladder to the scene of the accident, but due to the structural conditions it could not be reached with their equipment. The pressure increased - the fire department decided to use an aerial rescue platform, which can move up to 53 meters high and is extremely effective in difficult terrain. The large vehicle was immediately brought into position and courageous firefighters climbed into the basket to remove the endangered tin roof from the dormer window.
Quick rescue operation
The timely rescue was crucial! After the loose metal roof was secured and brought down, the danger could finally be averted. Pfisterstrasse was completely closed for the duration of the operation while the emergency services had everything under control. Why the roof part came loose remains a mystery for the fire department.
