Café Garbes Storchennest” closes: Estorf loses a centerpiece!

Estorf.Another bitter loss for the coffee culture in the Mittelweser community: Andrea Garbe announces that her popular café “Garbes Storchennest” will close on December 31st! “With a heavy heart,” said the operator in an emotional Instagram post, this is happening “for economic reasons.” The “Storchennest” is the second café to close within just three months – after the “Landeplatz” café in Schessinghausen.

The closure of the “Stork’s Nest” hits the hearts of many loyal guests. Garbe would like to thank everyone who has remained loyal to her over the years and promises to remember the special moments. The café, which opened on April 8, 2022, was known for its “heart and soul” as well as delicious breakfasts, homemade cakes and hot meals on select days. Until the end of December, guests can enjoy the last treats, including a festive breakfast buffet on the holidays.

The sad reality of cafes

The reasons for the closures are alarming: the “Landeplatz” café also had to close its doors because it was not economically viable. Operator Cornelia Wollenberg explained on her homepage that she had not been able to manage the café in a way that was both a matter of the heart and made financial sense. These developments highlight the challenges facing many small cafés in the region.
