Love of books in Walle: Logbook becomes a cultural meeting point!
in Walle, at Vegesacker Straße 1, the Logbuch bookstore flourished under the direction of Sabine and Axel Stiehler like never before! Since its move in 2016, this place has developed into a cultural hotspot that attracts bookworms of all ages. In 2022 the bookstore was awarded the Bremen Bookstore Prize, and the readers of the Weser-Kurier recently chose them to the best bookstore Bremen! A true paradise for literary fans!
The events are the heart of this living community. The children's book club, launched by employee Sibille Hüolt, has quickly become a popular meeting place for young readers between 10 and 14 years. "The response was overwhelming! We had to divide the group, there were so many registrations," reports Stiehler enthusiastically. Here the children not only learn to read, but also how to select books and write reviews. The next round starts in the new year - a must for all small bookworms!
Unique events attract readers
Another hit was the first Silent Reading Party in summer, where visitors could bring their own books and read in a relaxed atmosphere. "It's not about the sale, but about pure reading pleasure," explains Stiehler. In the silence of the shop, the participants can escape everyday life and devote themselves entirely to read. The next party is planned for January - a highlight that many are looking forward to!
In November, a new reader round for adults that promotes exchange about literature also starts. "Customers have always asked for such an offer," says Stiehler. At the first meeting, the book "Amrum" is discussed by Hark Bohm. This round will take place every two months and promises exciting discussions! And at Christmas time, Logbuch is transformed into a festive meeting point with mulled wine and a cozy atmosphere - a real pleasure for all book lovers!
