Ukrainian troops in the fight against North Korea's elite soldiers in Kursk!

Kursk, Russland - Kyiv, Ukraine- In a dramatic turning point in the Ukraine conflict, the Ukrainian armed forces not only fight against the Russian troops, but also against a new threat: elite soldiers from North Korea! While the fights in the western Russian region of Kursk are increasing in intensity, the Ukrainian soldiers do everything they can to defend and expand their positions.

On Sunday, the Ukrainian infantry and armored vehicles started an offensive in three directions around the city center of Sudzha, which they had conquered in August. By Tuesday, they had occupied at least three villages northeast of Sudzha and inflicted considerable losses to the North Korean units that fight under Russian command. "We have cleared their ranks - they have losses, even though Kim did not simply send ordinary soldiers," reported a Ukrainian soldier anonymously.

The North Korean threat

According to reports, Kim Jong Un has sent over 10,000 elite soldiers to Kursk, and it is assumed that hundreds of them have already fallen. This new dimension of the conflict not only brings additional complexity, but also increases the concerns about the Ukrainian resources and the combat morality. "They send a new brigade every day," said a Ukrainian soldier who defends itself against the continuing waves of Russian infantry in the strategically important city of Pokrovsk.

Despite a report on a lack of tanks and armored vehicles, the Russians further push. "The only problem you have is your equipment. You can no longer act as it was three or four months ago," added the soldier. But the biggest problem with which his unity and the entire Ukrainian army are confronted is the acute lack of personnel.

losses and retreats

Last week, the Ukrainian troops withdrew from the eastern city of Kurakhove, who brought the Russian armed forces under control on Monday. "The Kurakhove defense facilities were taken over, simply because we didn't have anyone there," said the soldier. "The best motivated soldiers have fallen, the new ones have neither training nor motivation." He also criticized the decisions of the commanders, who in his opinion do not appreciate the life of the soldier.

The Russian troops that conquered Kurakhove are also supposed to run through the city. A local woman reported: "They break into apartments that have not been damaged by fire and steal everything they can wear." These reports throw a dark light on the reality on site and the supposed “liberators” from Moscow.

Personnel lack has caused some analysts to doubt Kiev's strategy of continuing the offensive in Kursk. "Zelenskyj's strategy is to collect brigades with equipment in the hinterland just to solemn them in the country of Kursk to win 1.5 km of arable land," said Nikolay Mitrokhin from the University of Bremen. Nevertheless, others on the offensive see an opportunity to win an important room for negotiations.

A possible assault on a Russian nuclear power plant in the city of Kurchatov could prove to be a strategic profit. "We didn't want to make things worse, but we have to do it," said the former deputy head of the Ukrainian general staff, lieutenant general Ihor Romanenko. Such a step could not only bring military advantages, but also increase the domestic pressure on Vladimir Putin.

The situation remains tense, while Ukraine continues to try to assert its positions and at the same time to cope with the challenges of personnel shortage and strategic decisions. The coming days could be decisive for the course of the conflict.
