In Filderstadt, a new foot and cycle path was equipped with innovative lighting technology. The pilot project was initiated in the municipal council at the request of the Green Group, and when the test phase is positive, the city plans to equip other foot and bike paths outdoors with similar technology.

Currently Filderstadt has 5500 fluorescent points that are gradually converted to energy -efficient LEDs. The city has been managing its lighting network since 2013 after taking it from Netze BW.
