Watches stand still: Juwelier Satzke closes after 47 years!
A chapter concludes: After 47 years, the traditional jewelry shop Satzke will close its doors in Osterholz-Scharmbeck. "We didn't want to complete 50 years anymore; at some point it is good," explains Annelie Satzke, who founded the business with her husband Rolf. The big sale has already started with discounts of up to 50 percent! "It was like a summer sale - packed," enthuses Annelie from the first week of sales.
From the foundation to closure
The foundation stone for the business was laid in 1977 when the Satzke couple opened a shop near the train station with a lot of courage and commitment. "We were looking for a long time, but the city center was full of shops at the time," recalls Annelie. They had chosen a perfect time with the Advent start. The business grew over the years, and the couple finally hired employees, including their son Michael. "We can look back on many thousands of ear holes and sell countless wedding rings," says Annelie with a laugh.
While the snakes are getting longer before the business and report the customers of their loyalty and gratitude, Annelie also thinks of the dreary development of the city center. "There will be less and less owner -managed shops, that is sad me," she says.
A successor to the jewelry business is not actively sought, but Annelie and Rolf are ready to hand over their machines and workshops if someone reports. After a long professional life, the two are now looking forward to retirement in which they want to enjoy the North Sea and the time in their own garden. "We just get up when we want and enjoy life," says Annelie beaming. A nice end for an era full of memories and loyal customers!
