in Lilienthal, the demolition of a legend has started: the old Schroeterschule, a landmark of the 1960s, falls victim to the demolition excavator! The former caretaker's house has been razed to the ground since Wednesday. The municipality has commissioned the experienced Cuxhaven demolition and recycling company Bodo Freimuth to make space for the dilapidated school for the new outdoor area. But the demolition is not easy-the entire old building should have disappeared by mid-February, except for the old gym and the adjacent daycare building.

Holger Junk, Managing Director of Consens Environmental Planning, monitors the demolition with a sharp eye. The regulations are strictly: First, it is gutted without pollutants escaping. Each step is meticulously recorded. Even an independent appraiser will check the air after demolition for pollutants to ensure that nothing is to be poisonous. Especially in buildings from the 60s and 1970s, dangers such as asbestos and tar -containing materials lurk! As much as possible should be recycled; Concrete is crushed and sold - a little chance for the old one to continue her existence!

Despite the narrow space on the construction site and consideration of school operations - the excavator works after school - the demolition ensures enormous excitement! Trucks only drive outside of classes and keep the schoolchildren out of the danger zone.
