Uckermark: Sensational 4000 year old graves discovered!

In an exciting archaeological find, experts in the Uckermark near Casekow discovered around 4000 years old graves and human bones! These sensational finds date from the time of the transition from the Neolithic period to the early Bronze Age, i.e. between 2300 and 1900 BC. The archaeologists were on site to carry out important studies as part of a construction project of the railway when they came across these historical remains.

Unique finds and their meaning

The find of a "flint dagger" is particularly noteworthy, which is classified as extraordinary by the experts. Such larger graves from this era are extremely rare in Brandenburg. The bones are in an amazingly good condition, which is optimistic the researchers. However, a more precise date of the finds is not yet possible.

The next steps are already being planned: the bones are examined for traces and injuries, and genetic analyzes should provide information about gender, age and size of the buried people. This place in Casekow could be one of the few burial grounds of that time to be decisive for understanding Brandenburg state history!
