In a small village in the Uckermark, it is boiling: Daniela Reichmann, a passionate animal rights activist, plans to build an animal shelter that has dreamed of over 30 years. But the neighbors are anything but enthusiastic! They fear for their calm and fear that the constant barking of the dogs could disturb their idyll. "I didn't expect so many people stand against the shelter," admits the 58-year-old disappointed.
The situation escalates when the municipal council of Carmzow/Wallmow reacts to the concerns of the residents. Mayor Jörn Muranko explains that the objections of the citizens were taken seriously and the community acts in the interest of the residents. "We support the citizens and hope for the understanding of Ms. Reichmann," said Muranko. The animal rights activist is horrified by this turn and sees her life's work in danger. "My heart bleeds," she says, while thinking of her heart project.

Daniela Reichmann, who also maintains injured animals, does not give up. It has lodged an objection and plans to go to court. As a support member of "Doctors against Animal Experiments", she not only wants to help dogs from test laboratories, but also create a new hope for animals in the Uckermark. Despite the resistance, she has support from friends of friends in the area who award their courage. "We see ourselves in court," she announced, and remains optimistic that her dream will one day become a reality.
