The Sörensen family is fighting for inclusive shared apartment in the Uckermark
In the Uckermark it is boiling: Well Sörensen and her husband have a vision! They moved here over 20 years ago, and now their children, Nuka (15) and Viggo (11), are the focus of an exciting plan. The two teenagers who were born with disabilities should not only have a home, but a home that remains! The Sörenens dream of a shared apartment for young adults with disabilities on their homestead at Brüssow. But the way there is rocky and full of hurdles.
"We want our children to be able to grow old in their traditional home," explains well. But reality looks different: after years of fighting with the authorities, they are sobered. "It is incredible what is going on in promoting disabled children," complains the Danish. Applications are often rejected as if one hopes that those affected give up. But the Sörenens don't give up! With legal support, you organized the best possible help for your children. Nuka and Viggo are now visiting the life school in Prenzlau and feel comfortable there - a bright spot after many setbacks.
A tough struggle for support
The parents are grateful for the support that Nuka receives from the "very great Stephanus Foundation". Laura Lange, her supervisor, helps her in everyday school life. Viggo also benefits from this form of support. But the way there was a hard fight, and the Sörensens have to argue for every cent. They are currently looking for a mini -jobber, ideally a male to offer Viggo male role models. "We are happy about everyone who is interested in our inclusive project or would like to exchange information about our struggle with the offices," said the family. Contact them at 0174 9662599!
