Noise and racer in Wittenberge: Residents demand immediate measures!

in Wittenberge, on Wahrenberger Straße, concerned residents come up! Citizens are literally haunted by violent noise pollution through passing cars. At a meeting with Martin Hahn from the building authority and Lars Wirwich from the regulatory office, around 15 residents informed their concerns about the rapid traffic in their neighborhood. "The walls will wiggle us from 4:30 a.m. on Monday morning," reported an outraged resident with a child in our arms. Here the nerves of the residents are excited to tear!

razor endanger life!

The road surface made of cobbles is not the only problem that affects the residents. "We are not against an asphalting, but that could only stimulate the drivers at even faster speeds," said the initiator of the campaign, Daniel Jacobi. The fears of the citizens are more than just theoretical: quick driving becomes a fatal danger for children and pets! Many children who are threatened by the frenzied cars live in the neighborhood - some cats have already lost their lives because they wanted to cross the street. The demands for speed controls and effective obstacles have become loud!

Missing controls and traffic jam problems

The residents demand loudly for more security measures: "We want to control speed controls, traffic counts and additional signs on the side of the road", a affected resident vehemently demands. The traffic count from September has shown that a large number of drivers are there with an average of 39 km/h there, some heat even faster! With 11,257 vehicles in one week, the affected residents have enough of the frenzied flood of traffic. The building authority ensured a renewed count in November and examined the opportunity to introduce tempo inflows and to tackle the rainwater problem in this critical point. Will the measures finally have an effect? The Wittenberger are looking forward to changes!
