Kita point under pressure: Parents shock too high!

In wise, the improvement of the daycare location is driven forward in order to make the facility more sustainable. Torsten Jacob, the office director of the Bad Wilsnack/Weisen office, explains that a renovation plan for the daycare center already exists, but the financial resources are still missing. This is a step to not only renew the infrastructure, but also to increase the attractiveness of the facility for future generations.

A big topic among the parents is the amount of daycare fees. These were perceived as too high in comparison to other communities. Jacob explains that the fees depend, among other things, on the ancillary costs, which leads to higher costs in older buildings with few children.

Comparison of the daycare fees

Mayor Jens Becker from the Votergemeinschaft für Weisen & Schilde indicates that the differences to the fees in Breese are significant. For example, parents in wise with a monthly net income of over 2600 euros pay up to 250 euros for up to six hours. In comparison, the monthly fees in Breese are between 133 and 150 euros, regardless of the income levels.

For many parents in wise, the financial burden becomes clear, since the increase in fee is after income levels, which is not the case in Breese. The difference in payments, especially with one-child care, means that some families think about moving to the neighboring community.

At the moment, 26 children are looked after in the daycare center, nine of which are under three years old. These facilities reward the fee survey in small children in accordance with the current regulations in Brandenburg, while there are no fees for the older children. A rethink in state politics could lead to changes, explained Jacob.

Another discussion point at the most recent meeting of the municipal council was the regulation of closing times during the summer vacation. Originally, the daycare center should be closed for two weeks, but this point has been put up for the time being to have more discussions with the parents and the daycare management. "We should get a little steam out of the kettle," said Mayor Becker.

The idea behind the closure is to improve the childcare situation due to personnel bottlenecks during the summer vacation. However, the municipal council does not want to put the parents under pressure and plans to announce the closing times in January in order to enable early planning.

With regard to the upcoming changes and the financial support emphasizes treasurer Matthias Lodwig that the costs for adaptation to the fees in Breese would be around 10,000 euros per year, which would depend on the number of children in the corresponding age group.

The increase in daycare fees and the potential improvements in the location show that it is seriously trying to meet the needs of families. These measures are not only crucial for the satisfaction of the parents, but also for the future of children in the community.
