With an investment of 32 million euros, the foundation stone for a new sports forum was laid in the Schlaatz district. The city reacts to the acute lack of indoor and training times, which are urgently needed for schools and sports clubs in the region. The Sportforum is built on impressive 8,300 square meters and includes two sports halls, a large soccer field and three smaller soccer fields. Bernd Richter, plant manager of the municipal real estate service, emphasized: "The Sportforum Schlaatz becomes a sporting home for schools and clubs in the south of Potsdam." The modern halls are not only intended for school sports, but also for competitions in various disciplines, including fencing and judo.
