Women's Bundesliga: Clubs found Project GbR for the new future!
In a significant step for the women's Bundesliga, the twelve clubs of the "Google Pixel" Women's Bundesliga decided to intensify their cooperation. Initially, eleven of them founded the “Business Plan Women's Bundesliga Project GbR”. This merger aims to develop a conceptual basis for a self-supporting and independent women's Bundesliga.
While VfL Wolfsburg cooperates closely with the new company, he cannot join for internal corporate reasons. The path to a financially stable league is paved by a specially furnished task force that consists of representatives of well -known clubs. These include FC Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, SGS Essen, SC Freiburg, SV Werder Bremen and the German Football Bund (DFB).
a common goal
This task force has the task of developing a comprehensive and independent business plan for the women's Bundesliga. The basis for this initiative is the growth and professionalization plan of the DFB, which serves the clubs as a reference. The establishment of the project company is a direct result of its resolutions with the aim of further analyzing the growth potential of the league and designing strategic future scenarios.
Florian Zeutschler, managing director of SGS Essen, emphasizes the urgency behind this project: "In our view, the target image of an economically self -sufficient Bundesliga - especially against the background of current growth - is without alternative." It is confident that all clubs involved pull together to promote women's football together.
The challenges of the women's Bundesliga should not be underestimated, as Katharina Kiel, the technical director of Eintracht Frankfurt, notes. "The women's Bundesliga faces major challenges both nationally and internationally," she explains. The increasing financial requirements in rapidly growing women's football make the clubs increasingly dependent on men's football, which makes the Situation even more complicated.
Kiel adds that it is crucial to take further steps together with the Bundesliga clubs in order to take into account the heterogeneity of the clubs and at the same time create an attractive and competitive league. "The founding of the Taskforce is a very important step towards an attractive and competitive league," she says and appreciates the DFB for its active support in this process.
Overall, this initiative underlines the endeavors to make the women's Bundesliga future-proof. It is an important transformation that can increase both the national and international reputation of women's football. Economic self -sufficiency is awarded a central role in order to offer the clubs an independent and stable basis on which they can achieve their sporting and financial goals.
