The question of who should lead the SPD to the next election creates heated discussions in Brandenburg! While Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke clearly advocates Chancellor Olaf Scholz, there are also critical voices in the party. "The Federal Chancellor will start again. It is clear who is the SPD's candidate for Chancellor," said Woidke of the German Press Agency and thus stood behind Scholz, who wants to run in Potsdam.

Not all of the comrades are convinced! In the SPD associations in Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Barnim and Cottbus, the K question is heavily debated. The sub -district chairman Wolfgang Roick emphasizes: "Of course, it is also controversial in the sub -district." While some are for Scholz, there are also voices that bring the popular Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius into play as possible challengers. Kurt Fischer, head of the SPD Barnim, reports on an inconsistent opinion, while he himself gives Scholz backing: "As a SPD, we have an incumbent, experienced and level -headed Chancellor." Clear support also comes from Teltow-Fläming: "We nominated Olaf Scholz as a direct candidate. We are full of Olaf Scholz," says Erik Stohn, the chairman of the SPD Teltow-Fläming.
