Youth survey in the district: What do our students really think?
Youth survey in the district: What do our students really think?
An exciting project started on November 13, 2024 in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district! Under the motto "Show what you think!" a comprehensive youth survey is carried out, which is aimed at all students from class 7 in high schools, high schools and the high school center. This survey initiated by the youth welfare office of the district administration is a crucial step in the development of the prevention strategy "Communities that Care" (CTC), which aims to promote safe and healthy growing up for children and adolescents.
The survey will be carried out in the first school year in the form of an approximately one-hour online survey at all secondary schools in the district. The responsible Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in the State of Brandenburg has already given the green light. The young people are asked about topics such as family, school, health and leisure to gain valuable insights into their realities. A total of 45 questions are asked, and the implementation is carried out by a committed team of experts who stand by the students on site.
First results and support of the schools
The first survey took place at the Robert Schlesier high school in Calau, where around 80 pupils shared their opinions. Josi Benad, one of the people responsible, was enthusiastic about the openness of the young people and their commitment to carefully answer the questions. The results of this survey will not only flow into the CTC strategy, but are also available to the municipalities that are involved in the implementation of the measures.
The support of the schools is overwhelming! Many facilities have promised their participation and help with the provision of premises and technical devices. Steffen Lachmann, another coordinator, thanked everyone involved for their commitment. The implementation of the CTC strategy will initially begin in the three pilot municipalities of Senftenberg, Lauchhammer and Calau, with the aim of doing sustainable and effective prevention work.
