The food chain has now announced the exciting plans for construction in Freimuthstrasse, where the old Norma supermarket must give way. Preparations for the demolition begin in the first quarter of 2025, and the construction period is estimated for about 24 months.

The Edeka spokeswoman informs: "We expect an opening in late 2026 or early 2027." The new market will offer a real shopping paradise with a sales area of 3000 square meters! Customers can look forward to a service counter for baked goods and a Toto-Lotto provider in the pre-cash register area. But the construction project also has downsides: the Hammer branch, which was a popular starting point for 27 years, had to close due to the construction work, which caused many resentment.

However, Edeka has assured that the existing tenants such as DRK day care and the surveying office will remain.
