The Clinic Frankfurt (Oder) celebrates a remarkable 40th birthday and looks back on an impressive story that began in 1984 with the opening of the then district hospital. At a festive event in the BIC Congress Center on September 27, 2024, this special occasion was honored. The ceremony attracted numerous guests from different areas, including the Brandenburg Minister of Health, Care and Prevention, Ursula Nonnemacher, as well as representatives of the Rhön-Klinikum AG and numerous employees of the clinic.
In her speech,Ursula Nonnemacher emphasized the importance of the clinic: "As the fourth largest plank tankhouse with the highest supply level in the state of Brandenburg, the clinic has developed into a modern medical center that is known for its high medical quality both regionally and nationally." This statement underlines the high priority that the clinic occupies in the health care of the country.

The clinic manager Jan Jakobitz paid tribute to the work of the employees, many of them on duty for many years: "Your commitment is the heart of our clinic. Through your daily commitment you take care of our patients, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart." The director also emphasized the continuous investments in modern technology and the improvement of the supply standards. "We have treated around one million patients in the past 40 years," he added.
Another important point in the speech by the CEO Prof. Dr. Tobias Kaltenbach was the courage for further development, especially in troubled times in the health sector. "As a private health group, we invest our profits in the improvement of medical qualities and the infrastructure to ensure comprehensive health care," said Kaltenbach.
dr. Stefan Stranz, board member of Rhön-Klinikum AG and responsible for the Frankfurt (Oder) Clinic (Oder) added: "We are the largest employer and trainer in the region. Our over 1,800 employees come from 39 nations and are crucial for the fulfillment of our medical tasks."
An important step in the future design of the clinic will be the investment in a new hybrid surgical hall, which integrates both imaging methods and a multifunctional operation table. The clinic is investing around 12 million euros for this and thus remains in the medical innovation.
The medical director Prof. Christiane Richter-Ehrenstein emphasized the comprehensive treatment competence of the clinic. All somatic diseases are treated in 26 specialist departments, which means broad expertise and specialization. This diversity makes the clinic an important health service provider in the region.
The nursing manager, Dr. Jenny Wortha, informed about the new developments in nursing profession and the importance of further training opportunities for nursing staff. "We are responsible here and offer part -time courses that enable our employees to further develop their knowledge and skills," she explained proudly.
