Zeuthen halves property tax: Owners breathe up!
Dahme-Spreewald. The municipality of Zeuthen has dared to take a drama-sprree forest: January 1, 2025 from 410 to 217 percent almost halved! This was unanimously decided by the municipal representatives, and Mayor Philipp Martens (independent) emphasized that this creates a "reliable basis" for owners. At the same time, the financial stability of the municipality remains.
With this new, lower, lower lifting rate, the municipality expects to take around 1.3 million euros-as much as in 2024. But what does that mean for the owners? The effects are individually different. While some may have to pay more property tax with the lower rate, others are asked less to checkout. Martens explains that the new evaluation depends on many factors, including the location, size and year of construction of the land.
commercial benefit
Another interesting aspect: Commercialists should pay fewer in the future, while owners of residential properties may have to make higher taxes. The bottom line is a zero -sum game for the community. Nadine Selch (CDU), the chair of the municipal council, emphasizes that the reduction in the rate is also important for tenants in order to avoid enormous financial burden.
In the neighboring municipality of Eichwalde, a reduction in the rate of 375 to 275 percent is also aimed at, which should lead to constant income of around 650,000 euros. In the meantime, the city of Wildau is still waiting for the final determination of the new feast, with Mayor Frank Nerlich (non -party) pointing out that homeowners have to expect higher costs. The property tax reform therefore brings movement to the region and the municipalities are facing major financial challenges.
