Martin's Day in Teltow-Fläming: lantern removals and festive celebrations!

Teltow-Fläming/Dahme-Spreewald. Private organizers celebrated with great enthusiasm! Schools and daycare centers are also part of the party, and the celebrations often begin with atmospheric services and devotions that bring the legendary history of St. Martin to life. Then the lantern carriers move through the streets and spread light and joy!

Martin's Day is reminiscent of St. Martin, who once lived as a Roman soldier and later became Bishop of Tours. The touching legend tells how Martin gave his coat to a freezing beggar - a radiant example of charity and sharing. This message is kept alive in the celebrations, while people come together to celebrate traditions.
