Bridge chaos in Grüningen: What is now going to commit commuters!

The plane bridge is facing a dramatic turn! Heavy traffic will soon become taboo, while the city administration is feverishly working on solutions. From now on, the detour for traffic leads to the B1 and then over the Görden Bridge via Ziesar. The Potsdamer Straße bridge with a limitation of 32 tons is used for the city's fault. If the state company road system prohibits this, only the Görden Bridge to the west to B1.

But that's not all! In order to reduce the load to 6 tons per direction of travel, the city administration examines several options for the time until the new plan bridge is commissioned. These include a temporary bridge north of the old bridge and another "on" the old bridge as a replacement superstructure. The favorite solution to the civil engineering office is the piping of the tarpaulin in the area of the plane bridge, followed by the production of the street as a dam.

Mayor Michael Müller provides insights into the current status of the new building. "We are expected to bridge four years until the real new building of the bridge begins," he explains. The necessary documents have already been submitted to the State Office for Building and Transport (LBV), and the planning approval process is to start in early 2025. The city expects a planning approval in 2026 and the completion of the construction work until the end of 2028. An interesting funfact: In 2007 the city announced the new building, at that time the construction was planned for 2009!
