70 years of Film University Babelsberg: A festival full of emotions and memories!
An unforgettable evening full of emotions and memories! The Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf celebrated its 70th anniversary in a festive framework that touched the hearts of those present. Prof. Susanne Stürmer, the president of the university, opened the celebrations with a warm address. The Ramal Ensemble accompanied the event musically with soulful sounds from cello and piano, while Sebastian Stielke, a talented actor and graduate of the film university, led through the evening as a moderator.
Tobias Dünow, State Secretary for Science, Research and Culture, spoke in the representation of the prevented Minister Manja Schüle, and also Prof. Björn Stockleben, chairman of the Senate, gave a moving speech. An absolute Highlight was the demonstration of a short film in which the famous director Andreas Dresen told about his formative experiences at the film university. The present were banned and listened to the stories from the past.

The emotional highlight of the evening was the scenic reading "A journey in a quick run", which was performed by acting students. This performance aroused nostalgic memories among the older guests and kidnapped them into the challenges and joys of past times. At the crowning glory of the program, Christa Abel interpreted the moving piece "My Blue Piano". After the official part, the guests had the opportunity to exchange ideas, share memories and review the unforgettable moments of the film university.
The Film University Babelsberg, founded in 1954 by the legendary Prof. Kurt Maetzig, has developed into one of the most respected film universities in Germany over the years. It offers its students all the ways to realize creative visions and prepare for a successful career in the film industry.
