ZF Friedrichshafen under pressure: Do you threaten work closings in Germany?

A storm moves up at ZF Friedrichshafen! The technology group faces a massive restructuring of its German locations and the concerns about the future are tangible. After the shocking announcement of a drastic job removal in July, in which 1,800 jobs in Saarbrücken are affected, the entire workforce is now being alert. The question that all concerns: Which works will be next on the shooting list?

The CEO Holger Klein made it clear: "We have to do ZF sustainable." But what does that mean specifically? A manager, Alexander Heilig, will now travel through Germany to check the situation at all 40 locations. If profitability is wrong, there are further measures, possibly even closures! The drive plants are particularly at risk, including the Brandenburg location on the Havel, where half of the jobs are to be canceled. The uncertainty hovers like a sword of Damocles over the employees.

The future of the German locations on the brink

ZF Friedrichshafen has decided to first search for new products and savings options before a possible sale or closure. But time is urging! The transformation to electromobility presents traditional production plants with enormous challenges. Even at the headquarters in Friedrichshafen there is no guarantee of security, and the workforce is in great concern. Checking the locations could have far -reaching consequences, and it remains to be seen which decisions are ultimately made.
