Frank Maaß was the man that everyone could rely on! Whether the buoys were properly arranged or the bridges were stable - everything went under his watchful eye like a precise clockwork. "The competitions could always take place smoothly!", He proudly looks back on his years of work. And if smaller breakdowns occur, he was the quick problem solver. "When the starter system failed, we changed the valve and after a few minutes it went on," said Maaß, who is not a trouble to keep the competitions going.

"I think the emotions of the athletes are great," he beams. "The joy of the winner, but also the disappointment of the runner -up - sport just inspires me." At the request of the regatta route manager, he even postponed his retirement by a whole year!

"Frank always carried out his job conscientiously," says Uwe Philipp with damp eyes. "Overtime was no problem for him. He has a heart for the regatta course. We will be very lacking."
