Action day against violence: Brandenburg shows flag for women's rights!
On Monday, November 25, 2024, the city of Brandenburg on the Havel will be part of an important nationwide day of action under the motto "We are many - and we all stand for an end to gender -specific violence!" be. From 12:30 p.m., the flag "free living without violence" will be raised at the old town town hall, a powerful symbol of fighting violence against women and children. The members of the working group "No violence against women and children" are ready to clarify with information materials and to answer questions.
Thanks to a generous donation from Stadtwerke Brandenburg an der Havel, there are hot drinks for the participants in the girls' meeting at the Oldstadt Markt 8. At 2:30 p.m., a symbolic run from the Old City Market via the millennium bridge to the Neustadt market will take place before the participants return. This run is intended to illustrate solidarity with the victims of violence and set a strong sign.

From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., a reading with Mia Rose for her book "The shared woman" will take place in the Fouqué library, followed by a conversation that will deepen the topic of violence against women. Jeanette Horn, the city's equality officer, emphasizes the urgency of these actions: "Our common message is clear: Violence against women must not have any place in our society. Any contribution, whether large or small, helps to achieve this goal."
