The statistics show that 1281 sheep and goats fell victim to the wolves this year, while in the "Others" category - including cats - only nine cases are listed. But the hunting association sees the danger to pets as increasing because the wild stocks remove and the wolves are forced to look for new food sources.

Another incident causes excitement: a hunting dog could also have been killed by a wolf, but the investigations have not yet been completed. The environmental office has secured genetic material to clarify the incident. If a wolf is confirmed as a perpetrator, the dog handler will receive financial compensation. The police also investigate in another case on suspicion of poaching after a wolf in the municipality of Neißemünde died under mysterious circumstances. Brandenburg is therefore at the center of a dramatic conflict between man and nature!
