Full closure of the A1: The travel plans from Hamburg to the Baltic Sea are now re -plan!
As part of demolition work on the transfer to the Kreuz Bargteheide in the Stormarn district, the A1 motorway will be completely closed this weekend. According to Welt , the closure begins on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. and is expected to end on Monday, January 13, 2025. The A21 in the direction of travel is also affected by the work.
The A21 represents an important connection from Kiel to Hamburg and to the A24 to Berlin and crosses the A1 between Hamburg and Lübeck. The demolition of the old transfer structure of the A21 via the A1 takes place in the course of the work that is necessary because the existing transfer comes from 1966 and no longer meets the current transport requirements. Road users have to expect longer travel times and disabilities. It is recommended to forego no mandatory trips in the region during the blocking period.
diversions and traffic control
The diversions are signposted and due to the construction site, large -scale diversions for long -distance transport from the north and east are set up in the greater Hamburg area and to the Baltic Sea coast. These are clearly marked using a colored point system, such as Autobahn.de reported. In addition, regional road users are asked to follow the signposted diversions in order not to overload the regional road network. The demolition is expected to take 59 hours, whereby possible shifts must be taken into account due to weather conditions such as strong frost.
