Dedicated women wanted: Steglitz-Zehlendorf forms the first women's advisory board!

In the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district in Berlin, there is a significant step to promote gender equality. The district office is looking for committed women to form the first women's advisory board, which is supposed to act as a representation of interests for all women in the district. The application period ends on November 18, 2024, and the applicants are asked to send their documents to the women's representative.

The women's advisory board will be an independent and non -partisan body that is committed to promoting gender equality. The members will meet regularly six times a year in the evening to discuss concerns and discuss challenges and to plan strategic measures. The women have the opportunity to contribute their knowledge and to actively contribute to the design of their community.

The foundation of the women's advisory board is based on a decision of the district assembly. A total of up to 14 women can become a member. The composition stipulates that half of the members are women who are active in associations or organizations for women's work. The remaining seven places are reserved for women who are particularly committed in the district.

In order to meet the various realities of life and background of women in the district, women of all ages, origin and every living situation are called for application. The focus is on representing a wide range of experiences and perspectives in order to effectively represent the various concerns of women.

Interested parties should also have a strong interest in equality issues and want to actively work to improve the life situation of women in the district. The Women's Advisory Board is elected by the committee for women*, equality and queer of the BVV at the proposal of the women's representatives and is created in the duration of a legislative period. It is planned that the Advisory Board will start work at the beginning of 2025.

The women's representative is available to interested parties for all questions relating to the application and work of the women's advisory board.
