New youth playground at the Havelgarten: movement and fun for Haselhorst!

Am Havelgarten, 13599 Berlin, Deutschland - Yesterday was a big day for the young people in Haselhorst! The brand new youth playground at the Havelgarten was officially opened and promises to become a real magnet for movement and fun. City Councilor Thorsten Schatz, together with Anja Weiß and Marion Pieper from Gewobag, cut the tape and thus gave the starting signal for countless adventures on the approximately 1,300 m² area.

"The youth playground offers a wide range of movements, including a Calisthenics facility with parkour elements, two table tennis slabs and a trampoline," said Schatz enthusiastically. These new sports and movement offers are not only a profit for physical fitness, but also strengthen social interaction among young people. Here you can let off steam, find new friends and test their skills!

a project with foresight

The playground is the result of the "Berlin model of cooperative building land development", in which the state -owned housing association Gewobag pays part of the costs. The remaining funds come from the KSSP. Thanks to the support of project partners Bew Berliner Energie und Wärme AG and the “Space for Children's Dreams” project, this dream could become a reality. Particularly noteworthy: The wishes of the young people were already taken into account in the planning phase! In March 2023, the adventure room project carried out a survey among visitors to the Havelspitze youth club to find out which exercise offers and play equipment are desired.

The result? A playground that not only promotes physical fitness, but also becomes a place of social exchange and the community. A real gain for the entire neighborhood!
