Silberlocke: Gysi, Ramelow and Bartsch fight for the left!
Berlin, Deutschland - On Wednesday it gets serious for the left! Gregor Gysi, Bodo Ramelow and Dietmar Bartsch are ready to officially announced their candidatatur Bundestag. This decision could decide on the parliamentary future of her party. Ramelow, the only left -wing head of government in Germany, plans to move back to parliament in the Bundestag from 2005 to 2009. "There are two ways of being well represented in parliament as a party," he explains, and the details are unveiled on Wednesday.
Mission Silberlocke starts!
The press conference in Berlin is entitled "Project Silberlocke starts". Gysi, Ramelow and Bartsch will announce their direct candidates - a clear call for party rescue! The strategy is clear: the left wants to reach more than five percent of the votes to return to parliament with strength. If this does not succeed, the direct mandate clause, which helped in 2021, could be used again. This regulation allows the party to be represented in the Bundestag with only three constituents won, which significantly increases the opportunities for the left.
The competition is strong. Nationwide, the left struggles with survey values of only 3 to 4 percent, while internal disputes and the split off of the BSW also weaken the party. Gysi, who wants to compete in the constituency of Berlin-Treptow-Köpenick, and Bartsch, who runs in Rostock, rely on their awareness to regain voters. Ramelow, on the other hand, has a problem: he remains the executive prime minister until a successor is chosen, which makes his candidacy complicated. The SPD is already nervous and demands from him to prioritize the country and then the party.
The "Mission Silberlocke" is not only an election campaign, but also a story of reconciliation between Gysi and Bartsch, which was once political rivals. Gysi has already found his motto for the election campaign: "There are people who never get rid of. For example." Time is pushing and the left has to do everything possible to secure its future!
