In a dramatic incident in Berlin-Wilhelmstadt, a 32-year-old man was arrested who tried to cheat an 81-year-old senior citizen with a perfidious shock call. On Wednesday evening, around 9 p.m., an unknown woman called to the elderly woman and spoke out as a doctor. She described an alleged emergency that made a deposit payment necessary. But the senior woman was not so easy and informed her son, who immediately alerted the police.
While the caller's senior citizen pretended to respond to the incident, the fraudster announced that a courier would come to collection the money. In the hallway, the elderly woman handed over a fake bag to the fraudster, but he tried to flee immediately. However, the police were quickly on hand and arrested the man on Meydenbauerweg. When he was arrested, he made considerable resistance and contracted a facial injury that was treated by the rescue workers of the Berlin fire brigade.
