Tenant in Berlin: 2025 threatens drastic increases up to 10.47%!

In the coming year there will be a bad awakening for many Berlin tenants! The state -owned housing companies have announced massive rent increases for 2025. In response to the request from MP Niklas Schenker (left), the affected residential areas and the exact increases were now published. Rents rise in many large settlements, and that will put a lot of strain on the tenants' wallets!

The greatest increase awaits Gewobag in the district of spectrums in Spandau with a shocking increase of 9.83 percent! In the Tegel-Süd district in Reinickendorf, too, tenants have to expect an increase of 9.74 percent. The Howoge is no less gracious: in the thermometer settlement in Steglitz-Zehlendorf, rents increase by an average of 9.80 percent. The Degewo tenants in Rudow will pay the highest rents at EUR 10.47 per square meter net cold. The city even plans to increase up to 11.24 euros per square meter in Treptow-Köpenick!

Details of the rent increases

Here are some of the settlements in which rents will increase drastically:

  • Ahrensfeld terraces in Marzahn-Hellersdorf: 3.02 percent
  • Allendeviertel in Treptow-Köpenick: 3.81 percent
  • Quartier CHB-Nord in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf: 6.53 percent
  • thermometer settlement in Steglitz-Zehlendorf: 9.80 percent
  • Quartier Spektrünzug in Spandau: 9.83 percent
  • rudow : 0.55 percent

The Gesobau and the Howoge have also announced their increases. In Hellersdorf, rents rise by 3.6 percent, while the Howoge in Lichtenberg has up to 9.21 percent. The tenants have to adjust to these changes and possibly rethink their budgets!
