Solar prices in the dive: Where is the demand for the energy transition?
The solar price rasant is here! Despite a dramatic drop in prices for solar modules, the demand in the industry remains weak. High -modern, highly efficient modules with an efficiency of over 22 percent now only cost an average of only 14 cents per watt - an unbeatable deal, which, however, does not ensure the hoped -for boom. "The need for many providers forces even to devalue their best modules," explains Martin Schachinger, managing director of the online retailer PV Xchange. A huge challenge for planners and installers!
In the small system segment, the Situation becomes even darker. Home owners hesitate, invest less because the cost of living increases. The situation does not seem rosy even with the larger commercial photovoltaic systems: the jump forward is slowed down by long processing times for authorities and network operators. "The waiting times undermine many projects, and the increasingly scarce network capacities delay great projects to the uncertainty," says Schachinger.
insolvencies are increasing!
the consequences? Alarming! More and more companies from the planning and installation industry are on the edge of the financial abyss. The fixed costs rise while the orders are disappearing. "The bankruptcies are piling up. Wholesale is fighting over -dimensioned stocks that have to be constantly devalued," said Schachinger. This development will not only affect European companies, but also have effects in China.
Despite these shattering facts, there is a ray of hope: market cleanup could be a chance for the really committed companies. "Hopefully only those who deliver quality and take innovation seriously," says Schachinger. The industry could soon become more stable - if the competitive pressure subsides.
