Pankow says Lebewohl: Farewell tour starts in Cottbus!

Straße der Jugend 16, 03046 Cottbus, Deutschland - The legendary Ost rock band Pankow is at the beginning of its big farewell. On January 17, 2025, the group starts its “until the end” tour in the Glad House in Cottbus, which is not only a degree, but also an emotional event for the band and their fans. "We have been traveling all over East Germany. We played there in every Kuhkaff over the decades," admitted front man André Herzberg when he explained the importance of the tour. As part of these last appearances, fans can look forward to a total of 16 concerts, including Berlin and Potsdam. Tickets are already available and costs between 42.35 euros.

The most important facts about the farewell tour

Pankow, a band founded in East Berlin in 1981 and was particularly known in the 1980s, will cede from the stage 44 years after its foundation. With their music they have had a lasting impact on the GDR culture and often criticized the regime in their texts. With the song “Until the last”, which was published in November, they reflect their emotional experiences of the past decades. Herzberg emphasizes that the song should not be nostalgic, but should rather celebrate, similar to how to say goodbye in Latin America: "That also suits us as a band."

fans can look forward to a last big highlight in the Glad House before Pankow close the gates. But the farewell is not quite without hope, because Herzberg plans to publish another album. More information about the further tour of the tour and the available tickets can be found on the Pankow website.
