Youth club Groß Pankow: Celebrate a recipe for success for the anniversary!

Groß Pankow. A tenth anniversary of the youth club in Groß Pankow attracts everyone! Led by the dedicated social worker Carsten Pusch, the club has developed into an indispensable meeting point for young people who is really unique in rural Prignitz. "Youth work is often neglected in rural areas," criticizes Pusch, reminiscent of the times when the young people lacked their own meeting point.

But that changed in 2014 when the youth club was founded right next to the Juri Gagarin School-a step that was long overdue! Pusch emphasizes how important this place is for the community. "We are well positioned now, but the space could be larger," said the ladder. And despite all the difficulties that the club still has to cope with today, it has proven itself extremely as a place of encounter. Young people between the ages of 13 and 17 from Groß Pankow and the surrounding villages of Kuhbier and Wolfshagen gather here every week - a real highlight every Friday!

Challenges and success

Although the anniversary was recently celebrated with a big festival, but Carsten Pusch urges the problems that are far from solved. "The district has to, the municipality can - but it doesn't work everywhere to be there for the children and young people," he admits. In particular, local public transport remains a major challenge: "Often there is often no bus on vacation," warns Pusch, and this makes access to leisure time more difficult.

But the youth club reacts and not only offers young people a retreat, but also actively supports them in finding their job and organizes excursions to training facilities. Pusch is aware of the responsibility: "We have to help young people find a way for the future!" All of this ensures that the youth club in Groß Pankow continues to play a central role for the young generation in the region.
