The Ferdinand von Quast medal is awarded again! This year she honors the talented architect Martina Abri and Hanna gGmbH for her outstanding achievements in the renovation of a historical jewel in the Pankow district. The State Monument Office has announced the ceremony for November 20, and the anticipation is already noticeable!

Martina Abri, a former professor of monument preservation at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, is awarded for her life's work. Her numerous projects in Berlin and Brandenburg are not only impressive, but also shaped by a deep understanding of the preservation of historical monuments. Among her most important work is the restoration of the Marienkirche, which is enthroned at Alexanderplatz and is a landmark of the city.

But that's not all! Hanna gGmbH also receives an award for the monument -friendly renovation of the Kossätenhaus in Blankenburg. This historic building, which was built around 1793, was acquired by the organization five years ago and repaired by 2020 to 2024. It is considered one of the oldest houses in the Pankow district. The managing director Manuel Schottmüller has campaigned beyond the normal level for the preservation of the building, which brings high recognition to him and his team.

The monument prize is an important award that recognizes people and institutions that take care of the cultural heritage of Berlin in a special way. Preparations for the award ceremony are in full swing, and the city is looking forward to an evening full of honors and solemn moments!
