Berlin is urgently looking for election helpers: become active now and participate!

Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Deutschland - The preparations for the early Bundestag election in Berlin are in full swing. The state election management is still urgently looking for election helpers to ensure the smooth running of the election on February 23. Numerous helpers have already been found in many districts, but the situation in the Mitte, Lichtenberg, Treptow-Köpenick and Neukölln districts remains tense, as Tagesspiegel reports. A total of around 2,000 to 3,000 election workers are still required to reach the required number of 36,600 - a number that is higher than originally expected.

The tasks of the election workers are diverse. From checking the voting right to counting the votes, the helpers not only need to know what to do, they should also ensure calm and order in the polling station during the entire election process. The functions include the election leader and the secretary, who, among other things, lead the electoral register and make protocols. For their activities, the election workers receive a "refreshment allowance", which, depending on the function, is between 80 and 120 euros, as the Federal election manager also explained.

With a view to the elections in Berlin, the district voting offices have completed their operational planning. Now there are quickly committed people who bring their knowledge and help to secure the democratic basic order. The state election manager Stephan Bröchler is optimistic and is convinced that the necessary helpers can be found in good time to master the challenge of the upcoming Bundestag election.
