Entrepreneur condemned: fake weight loss injection for cosmetic surgeons!

Steyr, Österreich - On Monday, two entrepreneurs were convicted by the Steyr Regional Court for serious violations of the Medicinal Products Act. The men, 57 and 46 years old, received SIX months in prison and would also have to pay fines of 720 euros and 6,600 euros. The indictment stated that the accused had delivered fake weight -free injections to a cosmetic surgeon. These were illegal injections with insulin instead of the advertised "Ozempic" pens. During the period from the beginning to mid -September of the previous year, entrepreneurs sold a total of 225 pens that the doctor passed on to patients. This caused serious health problems in three women.

The judgment is not yet final because one of the accused has announced that he wanted to go to appeal, as well as the public prosecutor. The fines were measured in daily rates, which enables a fairer distribution based on the financial circumstances of the convict. As oesterreich.gv.at , a daily rate is at least 4 euros and can reach up to 5,000 euros in difficult cases. The legal requirements and procedures for the assessment of such punishments are intended to ensure that there is also an appropriate punishment for different income.

It remains to be seen how the case will develop, since the court will certainly incorporate the seriousness of the crimes and the health consequences for those affected into the evaluation. At the same time, this incident shows the risks and legal challenges associated with the distribution of fake medication. Such offenses not only have criminal consequences, but can also undermine trust in medical products as far as everyone concerns.
