Neundorf will soon receive urgently needed sports hall for primary school!
Neundorf, Deutschland - The Pirna district of Neundorf, incorporated into the city of Pirna in 1923, finally sees light at the end of the tunnel: After years of fighting for a sports hall, a new building at the primary school is now being realized. The previous location was anything but ideal - students had to limit themselves to a much too small space in order to carry out physical education, which, according to the city administration, did not meet the requirements of proper sports lessons. But now, in view of the approved funding and a recent city council decision, the signs are on new construction. Like the Sächsische.de reported, an architecture office was commissioned to plan that is scheduled to begin this year.
new building of the sports hall and planned use
The project is realized at a location between the Alt-Neundorf street and the sports field. According to the plans, it will be a modern, single -storey sports hall with an area of 215 to 240 square meters, which is designed for both school and leisure events. In addition, changing room, equipment room and storage rooms are to be integrated. The official building application is scheduled for mid -April 2025, with a construction start that will be sought for October 2025. The completion of the hall is planned for August 2026, as addressed by Pirnas Mayor Markus Dreßler. A total budget of 2.35 million euros was approved for the project.
With the creation of this new sports facility, the allocation of the halls for use by schools and sports clubs is also structured. According to pirna.de sports halls can be applied for by both schools and sports clubs. The opening times for school sports are from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., for leisure sports from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., while the halls are available on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. In the summer vacation and between Christmas and New Year, however, the use remains closed.
