Maisach fights against seeds: 28,000 euros for scale!

In Maisach, the seeds are increasingly spreading in residential areas, especially in Gernlinden. In order to counteract the growing population, the Maisach municipal council approved around 28,000 euros in 2025. This sum is used for the reduction of nests, with 2,500 euros planned for this, while the majority of the funds are applied for the commissioning of a false.

The new falconer, Leo Mandelsperger from Pfaffenhofen, will be four hours on site for 65 days to push the seeds into the outdoor area with a bird of prey. The measures require that nests will be removed by the end of January at the latest before eggs are in the nest because the birds fall under special protection status. The Upper Nature Conservation Authority has already approved the requested exit measures. The falconer will be in use at least until the end of March, with the option to continue to work until mid -April.
