Hirscher praises Haugan: just a race, accelerate! -Ski sensation in Saalbach!

Saalbach, Österreich - Marcel Hirscher, the ski superstar, is currently fighting on the slopes. During his comeback in the slalom, he had to struggle with problems in Gurgl last Sunday and left after a few goals. "It is a continuation of Levi. So I'm a bit out of place, so it is no fun," said Hirscher self -critically, while he described his performance as inadequate. As today , the 35-year-old had great difficulties on the demanding slope and was no longer competitive after half of the route.

Hirscher himself admits that the first phases of his race were good before the ice covering became more difficult and forced it on the defensive. Despite these setbacks, there is hope for Hirscher because his protégé Timon Haugan showed encouraging progress in the races in Saalbach. After the first round of the men's giant slalom, Haugan is only two hundredths ahead of the Swiss Loic Meillard and Marco Odermatt. On this day, Hirscher sent an encouraging news to Haugan, in which he asked him to "accelerate", reported Krone .

With the Bantter and common fighting spirit, Haugan and Hirscher try to save themselves from the dark clouds of the past few weeks. The next World Cup mission for Hirscher is planned for mid-December in Val d’Iere, whereby he will leave the US giant slalom in Beaver Creek on December 8th to better prepare and get back into shape.
