Friedrichstraße: The blocking has little influence on Berlin's flow of traffic!

The traffic load in Berlin's Friedrichstrasse is not as dramatic as many feared! A well -founded analysis of TomTom reveals that the closure of the famous road had no significant influence on traffic in the area. Ralf-Peter Schäfer, traffic expert from TomTom, said: "Friedrichstrasse plays no significant role as a north-south axis for car traffic in Berlin-Mitte". The average speeds remained almost unchanged during the closures, which underlines the liker importance of Friedrichstrasse for drivers.

The results are clear: the blocking had minimal effects on the traffic flows in adjacent roads, since many drivers had already switched to other routes or means of transport. TomTom analyzed traffic flows during the closure over a year and found that even construction sites such as "Unter den Linden" had a much greater influence on traffic. During the closure, drivers in Glinkastraße were able to increase their average by almost two kilometers per hour - from 12.9 to 14.7 km/h!

protests that are hardly noticeable

and the peasant protests also seem to cause little vertebrae in traffic chaos! The big day of action on January 15 only brought a marginal increase in time losses to 36 percent, which was hardly noticeable in view of the general traffic conditions in Berlin. In comparison, the last generation climate activists revitalized the traffic with their blockages - a loss of up to 45 percent for drivers! Their strategic planning led to traffic jams, which were clearly noticeable throughout the city. Schäfer said: "The protests of the last generation led to significantly more pronounced impairments in the entire urban area than the actions of farmers."

These exciting knowledge throw a new light on the debate about transport policy in Berlin. Despite the excitement and heat of the discussions, the question remains whether this change in the transport infrastructure is the last solution for traffic jams and traffic problems in the capital!
