Fossil-free living: New eco-quarters in Lückstraße is being built!

Lückstraße 35-37, 10317 Berlin, Deutschland - Excitement in Rummelsburg: The Howoge Wohnungsbaugesellschaft brings a breath of fresh air to housing with a revolutionary project! An absolutely "fossil-free quarters" is being built on a spacious area of 11,400 square meters in Lückstraße 35-37-a step into a greener future!

Here, seven innovative only electricity houses are created, which are operated with 100 percent green energy. The brand new 155 apartments completely do without fossil fuels such as gas or district heating. It is also planned that half of these apartments are socially supported, tailored to the recipient of a living permit. But that's not all - three units are intended for shared apartments, and there will be common rooms for social institutions!

Howoge Managing Director Ulrich Schiller explains: "In large cities we fight with high area competition and little space for central green energy generation. Therefore we have to generate as much energy as possible directly on the buildings." With a clever mix of photovoltaics and modern heat pumps, CO2-free electricity is produced on the roofs of the new buildings. This green electricity not only feeds the general house systems, but can also flow directly into the living room! If solar energy is not sufficient, environmentally friendly green electricity is obtained from the public network.

The stylish ensemble is built according to a unique type construction concept, designed by the Kreuzberg architecture firm Bollinger + Misorial and implemented by the IWP Hohental Plan- und Generalbau GmbH. The ecologically designed open spaces offer space for games, sports and calm, while a lavish planting with domestic plants embellishes the neighborhood. In order to promote sustainable mobility, there are also 300 parking spaces for bicycles.

The ambitious project should be completed by the end of 2025 and the rental will start soon! Interested parties can already register not to miss any news. Lückstraße is currently already being created with five other current quarters from Howoge, which also generate energy in an innovative way!
