Bicycle road in Karlshorst: Citizens discuss drafts on November 28th!

in Karlshorst, in the pulsating district of Lichtenberg, an exciting project is in the starting blocks: a new bicycle road should be created! On Thursday, November 28th, from 6 p.m., all residents and interested parties are cordially invited to discuss the exciting designs at the Hans-and-Hilde-Coppi-Gymnasium. This planned bicycle road stretches between Hentigstrasse, Caesarstraße and Römerweg and promises to make cycling more secure and more pleasant in the area.

feasibility study and citizen participation

The district office Lichtenberg has taken over the organization of this important event and commissioned a comprehensive feasibility study to redesign the streets. The aim is to create safe bicycle traffic as an attractive alternative to the busy Treskowallee. Until November 5th, citizens have the opportunity to submit their comments and suggestions via an online portal. These valuable feedback flow directly into the current designs and contribute to optimizing the plans.

The feasibility study will also analyze the effects of the proposed design variants on traffic and street space. This initiative is based on a decision by the Lichtenberg district assembly from 2022 and shows how important the safety and needs of cyclists are in the city. Be there and shape the future of cycling in Karlshorst!
