Advent market in Behamberg: tradition, costume and warm community!
On the first weekend in Advent, November 30th and December 1st, the excited Advent market of the Catholic women's movement took place in the parish of Behamberg. With an impressive offer of over 106 artistically decorated and 40 simple Advent wreaths and 50 great door wreaths, the market attracted numerous visitors from the area. These wreaths were not only traded, but also blessed. For hungry guests, on the so -called "sausage Sunday" there were, in addition to delicacies such as cinnamon slices, freshly fried sausages, which were very popular, such as MeinDärzieb reported.
A large part of the pure yield of this festive market is used for urgently needed renovation work in the church and in the rectory. An important ceremony was also held this Sunday: six new altar servers were included in the community, a celebration that was led by Father Georg Ofm together with Deacon Franz Wimmer. These new altar servers not only received a warm picture, but also a picture of their patron saint, the St. Tarsizius. In this way, not only tradition is kept alive, but also strengthened the spiritual community.
a valuable heir
A special highlight of the fair was the consecration of a beautiful chalice from 1852, which now shines again in full splendor. This chalice, a handmade piece made of real silver, was first offered by a Mr. Lichtenberger from the parish. Its name and a barely legible inscription adorn the object. This ceremony not only symbolized the rich history of the community, but also the deep connection with the traditions of the Catholic Church, as well as katholische-kirche-hof.de . The believers were given an inspiring message through prayers and chants by Bernhard Lichtenberg: to respect human dignity and to preserve faith in difficult times. These solemn words invite the community to strive for higher things every day and to live the values of faith, also in the present.
