A spokesman for the transport administration explains that the need for action at all locations with gas lighting is high. As part of an EU-funded project, the historical gas lanterns in the single-family houses of Lichtenrade and Marienfelde will be replaced by autumn next year. "As a rule, the street space after conversion is much better illuminated than before," said the transport administration.
