After months of hanging, the vacant position is finally occupied, with a clear sign of approval!
Diekmann, who previously worked as Vice President of the Regional Court and the Chamber Court, is now returning to the capital. To actively shape the transformation process and to focus on people.
a long way to the new President
The choice was not an easy process. The previous President Bernd Pickel retired in spring and the search for a successor dragged on. There was scramble for the coveted position, which is endowed with a gross salary of almost 11,400 euros. Diekmann prevailed against her competitor Svenja Schröder-Lomb, who was proposed by Pickel as his successor. However, the Presidential Council of the Chamber Court rejected this proposal, which led to the formation of a selection commission that finally recognized Diekmann as the better choice.
Diekmann's choice brings a breath of fresh air to the Berlin judiciary, which is in a phase of change. On Wednesday, there are other important personnel decisions in the judge's election committee, including the presidents of the two regional courts and the Tiergarten district court. Diekmann is ready to accept the challenges and to lead the Berlin judiciary into a new era!
