In a recently published international ranking of the best “food cities”, Bayern is taking two top positions with Munich and Nuremberg. The renowned travel and restaurant guide "Tasteatlas" highlighted the culinary hotspots worldwide in his list, whereby Munich ranks 49th of the "Top 100 Best Food Cities in the World". With an impressive average rating of 4.5 out of 5.0 points, the Bavarian capital can describe itself as the best "food" city of Germany, while Nuremberg lands 99th place with 4.3 points. Munich gastronomy is enjoying growing popularity, especially thanks to regional classics such as white sausages, pretzels and especially the famous Munich beer. The fine star restaurants, including twelve award -winning houses, also contribute to the attractiveness of the city as a culinary goal. Nuremberg, on the other hand, could score with its traditional dishes such as the Nuremberg sausages and gingerbread, which are particularly valued at Christmas. Bavaria's culinary heir
In the analysis, factors such as gastro density, the number of star restaurants and the search volume for restaurants were used. Munich leads the list with around 40 restaurants on a square kilometer. Behind him follows Frankfurt am Main with 140 points, while Berlin took third place with 139 points. Nuremberg also shows remarkable achievements and is described in the new ranking as one of the best gourmet cities in Germany. The constant focus on rich Bavarian cuisine and its renowned restaurants seems to be promoted further and attract many gourmets.
