Terror exercise in Würzburg: Police and Bundeswehr against the threat!

An impending terrorist attack could bring the police to their limits! In order to be well prepared for such scenarios, the police and Bundeswehr in Bavaria will train in Würzburg from today. The spectacular anti-terrorist exercise "Maintex 2024" goes over three days and focuses on fictional threats through chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear fabrics. An absolute must in times of international terrorist risk!

This large-scale exercise takes place in state properties, including the Balthasar-Neumann barracks in Veitshöchheim and the riot police in Würzburg. The state fire brigade school is also integrated into the exciting scenarios. Citizens can breathe a sigh of relief: no impairment is expected for the population, while the emergency services sharpen their skills. "Maintex 2024" is not a new territory: This vital exercise has been carried out regularly since 2017, most recently in the picturesque Füssen in the Ostallgäu.

strict rules for cooperation

The cooperation between the police and the Bundeswehr is strictly regulated in Germany. The Bundeswehr may only be used in special cases for administrative assistance, such as in the case of natural disasters. In contrast, the soldiers only act under the direction of the police in the terrorist defense. The internal security remains in the hands of the police, but the support from the Bundeswehr is essential in times of crisis!
